Keep talking to your doctor
#KeepTalking campaign

Even if you feel ok, it’s important to check in on yourself regularly. This will help prevent future problems and give you peace of mind, especially if there’s a family history of particular illnesses. But keeping an eye on your health doesn’t have to be complicated. Depending on your age, there are a few important checks your doctor can perform, to make sure you keep in good health.
How to keep talking to your doctor

Age 18 - 39
If you’re lucky enough to not suffer from any health issues at this age, it’s still important to get some basic checks done regularly.
- Blood pressure – at least every 2 years
- Cholesterol and heart disease – at least every 5 years
- Diabetes screening – as needed
- Eye exam – at least every 2 years
- Testicular exam – every now and then

Age 40-64
This is a time when some conditions like prostate cancer are often diagnosed. You should aim for these checks to be done:
- Bowel cancer screening
- Prostate cancer screening – when there’s a change in your testicular self-exam
- Blood pressure – at least every 2 years
- Cholesterol and heart disease – at least every 5 years
- Diabetes screening – as needed
- Eye exam – at least every 2 years

Age 65 and over
In your later years, it's especially important to pay attention to early signs of any potentially dangerous conditions.
- Abdominal aortic aneurysm screening - age 65
- Dementia screening – if you notice symptoms
- Hearing check – if you notice signs of hearing loss
- Cholesterol and heart disease screening – at least every 5 years
- Bowel cancer screening – every 2 years
- Diabetes screening – at least every 3 years
