Volunteer Presenter

Being a Foothold Content Presenter

Would you like to help bring engineering stories to life and be the face of Foothold’s digital content? As our Volunteer Content Presenter, you’ll play a key role in sharing engaging stories that highlight the support Foothold offers, raise awareness of challenges engineers face, and support our fundraising efforts.

Whether remotely or in-person, you’ll help humanise our work and make a lasting impact on the engineering community.

Your responsibilities:

  • Present video content for a range of campaigns – from neurodivergent awareness to service signposting and fundraising appeals

  • Bring engineering stories to life through presenting, script narration, and offering insights into the challenges and solutions within the industry

  • Work closely with our fundraising and marketing team to ensure content is natural, authentic, and aligned with Foothold’s messaging

  • Film remotely or attend in-person shoots when possible

  • Be a friendly and recognisable face that engineers and their families can connect with

Qualities and skills required:

  • Background in engineering (student, graduate or professional – all welcome!)

  • Confident communicator with a natural presenting style

  • Comfortable on camera and able to speak clearly, concisely and with enthusiasm

  • Passionate about supporting engineers and promoting available resources

  • Reliable, adaptable and happy to work collaboratively with our team

Training and support:

  • Training and coaching to build your on-camera and public speaking skills

  • Portfolio-building opportunities through real-world presenting experience

  • Visibility on Foothold’s platforms including social media, YouTube and our website

  • Connect with fellow engineers and industry professionals

  • The satisfaction of giving back and supporting the engineering community

Any other requirements:

It’s important to note that this is not a support role. If someone shares a concern or needs help, you can signpost them to our Support Services team via the helpline or pass their details to us and we’ll follow up.

Due to the vulnerable nature of the people we support, we’ll ask for two references as part of your application.

Recruitment process:

Step 1: Complete a short application form

Step 2: We’ll invite you to an informal chat about the role

We’d love to hear from you!

If you have any questions or want to talk about the role, please contact our Volunteering Manager:
