1st - 2nd October 2022

Join us for an unforgettable fundraising event

Trekking Mount Snowdon during the daytime poses a great challenge, but by having to rely on torches and starlight to guide your way under the cover of darkness, summiting at night brings a new level of thrill and achievement to an already hugely popular charity trek.

The challenge

Join #TeamFoothold and summit the highest mountain in Wales and England by moonlight!

Using torches to light your way along the Llanberis track, upon reaching the summit you’ll be rewarded with epic views of the sun rising across the the beautiful Snowdonia National Park.

On your descent, once you cross the finish line in Llanberis, you’ll celebrate your achievement with a well-earned breakfast!

The itinerary

Day 1

Meet your co-trekkers in Llanberis in the evening for event registration and briefing. You'll begin your hike along the Llanberis Path, with your ascent taking approximately 3 to 4 hours. You’ll use your head torch and the light of the stars to guide the way until you reach the summit.

Day 2

Celebrate your achievements once you reach the top and start your descent using the same trail. The descent will take approx. 2-3 hours and upon reaching our finish line in Llanberis, you'll celebrate with a well-earned breakfast. The trekking distance is approx. 9 miles.

What participants say

"Gale force winds, freezing temperatures and different abilities meant it took 5.5 hours to summit, but we ensured no one was left behind and everyone made it to the top."

"What a challenge! 60mph winds at points, pitch black all the way up and halfway down, and a lot of rain! Started at 11.35pm, summited at 2.45am and finished at 5.55am. No stopping, just pure determination."

"Wow. I’ve climbed Mount Snowdon twice but at night it's a whole other experience. Our incredible guides were just fantastic."

"Well, we did it! We conquered Snowdon! At night! In torrential rain! I spent the day in bed yesterday, and today my calves feel like they’ve shrunk in the wash. But it was worth it!"
