🌟 What we’re looking for

mikaela-sanchez-foothold

We’ve had some incredible presenters step up to share their stories, and Mikaela is one of them.

A neurodivergent engineer and passionate advocate, she’s helped us raise awareness about ADHD and neurodiversity, reaching thousands of people through impactful videos.

Her voice brought authenticity and heart to our campaigns, showing just how powerful a single story can be. Now, we’re looking for more voices to continue this important work – could it be yours?

🌱From Seeking Support to Shaping Stories

Mikaela’s journey with Foothold began when she reached out for support in getting an ADHD diagnosis; a step that helped her complete her engineering placement with newfound confidence. But her connection with us didn’t end there.

She became a Volunteer Presenter; bravely sharing her story to help others feel seen and understood. Her videos for Neurodiversity Celebration Week and ADHD Awareness Month quickly became some of our most impactful content; even earning us a nomination for a Smiley Charity Film Award 🏆.

Mikaela’s voice not only brought attention to vital issues; it helped shape a broader conversation about neurodiversity in the workplace.

Now, we’re looking for more voices to join her in making a difference.

"..I remembered seeing an email from the IET mentioning Foothold.. then I thought okay I'll see if I can get some help through Foothold." - Mikaela

💡 Real voices, real impact

Volunteer presenters like Joe and Richard helped us launch our Donate Direct campaign – speaking from the heart about why supporting engineers matters. Their message reached engineers across the IET community, highlighting how donations to Foothold provide vital support with mental health, neurodiversity, and financial wellbeing.

Whether it’s raising awareness, encouraging donations, or sharing your own story, our presenters play a crucial role in bringing Foothold’s work to life.

Just like Joe and Richard, you can help us make sure engineers and their families never face life’s challenges alone.
