Our Data and 360 Giving

Our commitment to transparent grantmaking

360 Giving -  Transparent data to support decision makers

360 Giving are a charity who help grant making charities to publish open, standardised grant data provided by grant makers to ensure transparency, and learning, about where charitable grants are being made.

Originally data was largely published by grant makers providing funding to other charities, but recently those making grants to individuals, such as Foothold, have started to publish data too.

Why are Foothold publishing data?

Like many benevolent funds, Foothold provide support to a particular group of society – in our case it’s engineers.

Whilst Foothold’s data is used to inform our own strategy, other grant makers, and those designing societal programmes, can use open data from grant making organisations to look at what financial support, and in what geographical areas, is already being delivered.

Is there personal information in the data?

No, the data is anonymised and only contains the necessary fields to help with standardisation when combined with data from other charities.
