Changes happening in February – read the latest CEO update

Read about the changes that are happening in February

There’s a lot of changes happening in February – from new staff to new services. Read more to see what’s been happening in the Foothold community, from CEO Jane Petit.

New additions

Well here we are at the beginning of February, with our new website now two weeks old and welcoming two new people to the services team – James Trevelyan, our new services advisor and Maureen Baker, our new caseworker both starting in the office today. This marks the end of four months’ work by Caroline, Siobhan and the team, looking at how we could use our resources to best meet the needs of our community. And with a new structure and team members in place we are looking forward to a busy few months ahead.  There’ll be more about both James and Maureen on the meet the team page on the website in a couple of weeks.

Goodbye Siobhan

The only downside is that it also means that we will be saying goodbye to Siobhan at the end of the month. She brought experience, energy and insight to the review and I would like to say a huge thank you for all that she has helped us achieve in the short time she has been here.

Latest developments

And things are coming into place just in time as we have begun work with Law Express on the launch of their Legal Information app designed to support our popular advice service enabling you to browse or call or do both!

And also agreed a partnership with Sleepstation who provide a drug-free, clinically validated sleep improvement programme. Delivered entirely online and carefully tailored to each individual, Sleepstation helps people identify the underlying causes of their sleep problem and provides the support and guidance needed to improve sleep. Clinically proven to combat even the most severe insomnia, the personalised support is what makes Sleepstation so effective, and that’s why we’ve chosen them as our partners.

We’re looking forward to launching both services before April so watch our social media for news – or better still subscribe to our emails.

Upcoming AGM

And if you would like to hear more about Sleepstation ahead of the launch, and other changes that are happening, you are welcome to join us at our AGM on Thurs February 27 10.30-1.30pm at 4th Floor, Napier House, 24 High Holborn when the CEO of Sleepstation will be coming to talk about the programme and its history. The way we have dealt with the last 12 months is with a positive attitude, laughter and not being afraid to ask for help. The financial help Foothold gave us meant less worry over bills and the girls didn’t have to miss out on things. Sharon Monelle View story
I had never been in the hospital in my life. Then, out of the blue, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After I came back from the hospital, it became clear that I wouldn’t be able to go back to work anytime soon. Alan Monelle View story
